Before we do anything else, we must prepare the canvas.
Often this involves updating how the space is lit, making repairs to walls, evaluating existing interior architecture and flooring, finding what needs to be changed and confirming that all existing systems serving the space are working correctly and in an efficient manner. Sometimes this means new light switches and thermostats. Sometimes we discover or are hired to find solutions to larger problems.
Once we have determined what needs to be done to provide the perfect blank canvas, we begin with getting to know our potential client, understanding what they want and what they need from their home and often, learning how they currently live in and use the space. We take into account their personal style as well as the story of the home- where it’s located, its history, its architecture, the level of formality and the flow of the rooms.
At this point we discuss budget, project duration and general design direction. Should you decide you want to work with us, we submit a proposal and a scope of work for you to approve.
